( see coaching info) The Manager will also need to have The Respect in Sport course and be responsible for handling any scheduling issues under the guidance of the Coordinator. prepare a half-time snack schedule & field marshall schedule. If there are any tournaments they would also collect tournament fees and register for the tournaments. The marshal ensures corner flags are in place for home games and monitor parents to ensure all are respectful to players, coaches and officials at all games. As this is an introduction to the competitive league, game sheets are used during the game but stats are not kept and there are no provincials but typically a year-end jamboree-style tournament.
Overview: The first two weeks of the program would be player assessments organized by our Technical Directors and helpers. The goal is to loosely sort players into two tiers (Green and White). Once players are placed permanently on their team, all teams would practice once a week and will be scheduled to play other Club U11 teams from across the Island, home and away. At the U11 level players are then club tied. Meaning they will not be able to register with another club without being released from their home club.

Overview: Tryouts in April will lead to placement either on Premier, Div 1 or Div 2 team. That team practices at least once per week and plays once per week throughout June, July and early August. Games would take place in Hunter River as well as various locations across PEI. In mid to late August, playoffs occur at each division level with championship games usually taking place the last weekend of August or first weekend of September. At this point players are club tied. Meaning they will not be able to register with another club without being released from their home club.
Tryouts/Sorting: Once registration has finished tryouts will begin. Players must be registered to participate in tryouts. Tryouts/ Spring training usually have a fee attached to pay for turf time as they are usually scheduled at the end of April as Central Queens fields are not ready for players yet. Tryouts may be performed by our Technical Director but are usually done by coaches that have applied and been approved to coach.
It is the intention of CQ/RC to have teams compete at the highest levels and strive to have teams in every level to ensure players that want to play can play. Most years we have U13P teams and then at least one or two teams in the First Division and Second Division. For most clubs if they have a few players that can play at the Premier level they will put in a Premier level team. After tryouts are completed coaches are assigned to the other teams. If no coach comes forward, parents must find a coach. Once tryouts are complete, the roster is submitted to Soccer PEI so they can schedule games. U13 teams play other teams from across PEI and scheduling and referee assignment is done by Soccer PEI. The game schedule will be posted on Soccer PEI's website.

Players are club tied once they complete a year of play at the Youth League level, meaning they cannot register with another club without permission and sign-off from the Club President. Every year Eliot River and Central Queens monitor registration. If a member of another club tries to register with our clubs that registration is denied and the registration fee is refunded. As mentioned before, our district intends to have teams compete at the highest level to ensure our athletes are able to play at their desired level. Players can transfer without issue if the home club is not able to offer the desired level of play. They must first register with their home club and the President will work with the club in the district to facilitate the transfer. Insurance is provided by Soccer PEI to those individuals registered with their home clubs. If a player is transferred then the insurance follows them. The Island is separated into districts within Soccer PEI. Central Queens and Eliot River are in the same district but transfers can also be approved outside of districts if need be.
1. Where a player or parent requests that a player moves up an age category, the Executive will appoint a suitable Player Assessment Committee or Individual to determine if the player is qualified to play at the higher level based on a “four corner” approach that includes assessment of the player’s physical (size), technical (skill), mental (maturity), and social/emotional (could make friends) attributes . The committee or individual will present their recommendation to the Executive for a decision.
