Important info on upcoming season

Apr. 09, 2023

In case you missed it in earlier correspondence, we are joining all our U13 and above teams with our district sister club Eliot River this season. They will be known as RC United ( Ramblers + Clippers). This ensures that all players are playing at the level that they are best suited for and it also allows our district to be stronger in each division making us more competitive with other larger clubs.

For U15 & U18 there are typically two divisions - Premier and First Division, in U13 there are 3 - Premier, First and Second.

Our Premier tryouts are finished with most of those teams being finalized and rosters posted on our website. We are now moving into what we call sorting for the remaining players who did not make premier or chose not to try out and are registered for soccer this summer.

Players are expected to attend these sessions where they will be assessed in order to be placed in the appropriate level/team. Players will scrimmage to show their game readiness, work on drills that will showcase their ball control, agility, speed, and comprehension. Assessors will also be looking at communication skills on and off the field, hard work and sportsmanship. Players should not feel nervous about being assessed it is just an additional method we are using to help make teams or if multiple teams at the same level this helps make them as equal as possible. They will barely know they are being watched ;)

All sessions are being held at The Terry Fox Centre in Cornwall on the soccer turf outside - so please dress accordingly.

Because of this, there is a one-time turf fee of $20 cash payable at the first session. If you have already been to tryouts and paid already - you do not pay again.

We ask that all players check in 20 minutes prior to their scheduled session at the Eliot River Rambler Clubhouse, to pay the turf fee, check in and get your numbered pinnie.

There is no bathroom at the soccer clubhouse but there will be access to the Terry Fox Centre facilities.

If your player is unable to attend one of the sessions please reply to this email and we will make that note.

We ask that all coaches be at the field to help with the assessment and/or help on the field if need be.
